Iran and Serbia sign MOU to enhance book publishing
TEHRAN – The Alhoda International Publishing Group and the Booksellers Association of Serbia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand bilateral cooperation on book publication.
The MOU was signed by Alhoda deputy director of publications affairs Hamid Dehdashti, President of the association Dejan Papic and Secretary General Ana Opacic at the pavilion of Nowruz Literary Agency, an affiliate of Alhoda, at the ongoing Belgrade International Book Fair (BIBF.
The two sides also agreed to exchange information about the publishers of the two countries, while they also discussed reinforcing bilateral cooperation on translations of books in the languages of the two countries, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Friday.
The Serbian association expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation and announced that it will be providing a list of Serbian books to be later translated into Persian.
Iran is the guest of honor of Belgrade International Book Fair (BIBF) which will come to an end on Sunday.
Iran has offered a wide range of programs to visitors, including an exhibition of illustrations, while a number of illustrators, miniaturists and calligraphers created works at the pavilion of Iran during the fair.
An Iranian film screening program has also been set up to make the visitors more familiar with the cinema of Iran.
